A great read, tying personal secrets with a Marine Corps backdrop to form a page-turning whodunit. The broken time storytelling gets and then keeps you hooked in discovering “what’s the secret”, who’s the villain and what will the outcome be? Well researched, well crafted, well written by a true-life General’s wife (and daughter). A wonderful debut!

The General's Wife by Suzanne Dana is exceptionally well written and informative about what it entails to be the spouse of a military man, especially one who achieves a high rank. I enjoyed that so much of it takes place in San Diego where I grew up. I recognized the different areas. There is a tragedy, and the theme is carried through with some surprising twists, turns and outcomes. The author brings it all together to a satisfying ending. Read it!

Couldn’t Put It Down!
The General’s Wife grabbed my attention from the start and kept me hooked. The characters feel real, the emotions hit hard, and the story moves at a perfect pace. I loved how the relationships unfolded and how each chapter pulled me deeper in.
If you enjoy intense, character-driven stories with plenty of twists, this one is must-read.

The book is a rich, erotic, and insightful reach into the life and mind of a Military Spouse who shares her life's history from childhood to middle age. Not sure it would fully resonate with non-military readers as the reviewer had been to all the places and spaces (although from a male perspective), but the female protagonist takes the reader on a wild ride from pre-pubescent surfer beaches and loss of innocence to military married life, scuba adventures, and love motels of Okinawa to the senior officer's wife experiences.
Brave and bold, she bares her soul in this treatise, a great book for all military spouses (and their partners) to fully enjoy. Applaud the author's bold style, attention to detail and insight into the life of one of those who "has the hardest (and most unappreciated) job in the Marine Corps".
Semper fi,
Hope many more books to come!

From the moment I read the first page of this novel, I was captivated by the intriguing story of this military wife. The author has provided us an all-encompassing, immersive experience into military life that is both heart-rendering and informative. I have seldom read a book from cover to cover in one sitting, but I found it impossible to stop turning the pages as the plot and characters drew me in to a world previously unknown to me. The author brilliantly weaves intrigue, honor, family values, military obligations, friendship, and love throughout the story that helps the reader to gain a better understanding of the complexities of being a military family. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-written story that will take you into the complicated world of the military from the perspective of a wife who supported and loved her Marine. I predict that this book will be a best seller!

“The General’s Wife” is an impressive debut that offers a fascinating window into a world rarely explored in fiction—the unique challenges and complexities of being married to a high-ranking military officer. The author masterfully weaves together the day-to-day realities of military spouse life with an engaging murder mystery that kept me turning pages late into the night.

Each chapter of this book feels like a window into a different season of life; the excitement of young love, realities of deployment, challenges of raising kids in a world of frequent goodbyes and the personal evolution that comes from learning to thrive in uncertainty. Suzanne Dana hit the mark in The Generals Wife…a great story of strength, support and adaptability that make military service possible!!

What an excellent read!
If you or your family have served or have just been around those in the military, this book gives a little insight on what not only active-duty face but maybe even more of what spouses endure. Suzanne captured everything perfectly in this wonderful book.

I absolutely loved The General’s Wife by Suzanne Dana — it is a gripping and beautifully written debut that blends mystery, memory, and emotion in a seamless, page-turning narrative. Dana’s portrayal of Maggie Stone — the general’s wife with secrets—drew me in immediately, and the way the story unravels, layering suspense with deeply human relationship dynamics, kept me hooked until the very last page. The characters feel real, the stakes feel high, and the prose is sharp and evocative. This book is a standout for anyone who enjoys a smart mix of romance and intrigue with plenty of heart.

Everything a modern story needs to thrive in terms of character development, plot and passion. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in military fiction.

This book truly described the life of a general’s wife who came from nothing and achieved something amazing and pure. A definite read for military wives. Nothing is left out! Could not put it down.
